Child in the USA on visitor visa and adoption.

If a child is in the USA on visitor visa visiting me, is there any way that I can adopt this child if the family is pushing for it in the childs homeland? She will be visiting me soon if everything goes ok with the visa process...........the application is already in for visitor visa. The problem is that the childs caretaker wants her to stay in the USA because they don't have any money. The parents of this child abandoned her at one month old. What can I do or what is the best way for me to get her in the USA and keep here here once she arrives?

there is NO way to legally adopt said child...and your question also suggests that the reasons given for the visitor's visa were false....and any attempts to circumvent normal procedures, etc, only add to the blemishes generated by other people who have used (abused) tourist visas for some other nefarious purpose...this child is supposed to return home, so....return home. The child is not an orphan nor have you undergone the various requirements to meet the regs of a bona fida international adoption...you are talking about committing visa fraud and trafficking in children...is this really what you want to do? Contrary to popular (and misguided) belief, US citizens do NOT have absolute authority over anyone on this planet, nor is it anyone's responsibility to rescue somebody from an unpleasant situation...what was the 'reason' given for said visit? And for how long did the applicant (or parent) claim this child was going to 'visit'? Any deviation from that represents a lie and fraud....period....there is NO such thing as a 'humanitarian visa', etc....it is tiresome reading about those who want to circumvent other rules using (and abusing) tourist visas for that purpose...because this sort of nonsense only makes it much much harder for bona fide applicants to obtain visas..something visa cheats conventiently forget.

You speak without knowing what you are talking about. First of all the child is too delared an orphan. And NOBODY is trying to attempt Visa fraud! I brought the child here to visit with me and to have her stay with me to learn other parts of the world. NOBODY is trying to cheat anyone. Now that the child is here, her guardian says that she doesn't want her to come back because she can't care for her. I WILL be taking her back to Jamaica when her visa is up but, I have nowhere to take her and no one to leave her with. That's my situation. Now, stop being so judemental and start listening to what people have to say.

Having done about 1100 adoptions, I have a much better insight than you about the requirements. You are the one (the future visa cheat) who stated you want the child to stay once she arrives...that is NOT the definition of a tourist....and jamaicans are not well known for adhering to our visa laws....as a bonus, I have sent a copy of your posting to our embassy in Kingston....so they might have a heads up ...you know....just in case....you have a nice day, mon.

and you are just another Jamaican visa cheat, with an IQ around 70 and a dress size around 20....add 'em up and you still don't break 100 (except on the scale)...you are a prime example of why Jamaicans have so little credibility...a culture who cannot understand laws let alone obey them.....

Pure and simple...I do not like visa cheats....people who lie and take advantage of an object of trust (tourist visa) without any qualms...something Jamaicans are famous for, alongside Nigerians...and a few other cultures...for who, adherence to law and personal responsibility are myths...and you are right square in the middle of this group.

All I did was ask a question. I ask questions so I make sure that I will do the right thing. From that first question, you assumed that I am a cheater and a liar. If I were a cheater and a liar, I wouldn't even be on this board asking for advice........instead, I would be behind the scene getting other people to do this for me. Get it?

Having an american attorney doing something is no sign of ethical behavior....people become immigration attorneys when they realize they have no ethics themsevles...and your question was focused on evading the rules.....now you are trying to scramble to try and change that image....which for me does not succeed....
