  • Help needed with B1/B2 visa for my parents

    Dear Friends,

I have been a student on F1 status here at USA and it has been one month since I graduated. Now, I am on OPT and looking for a job (post doc position). My husband is on F1status currently. My mother's visa has been rejected once when I invited her for my graduation. I am willing to reapply for my parents visa (B1/B2). First time, my mom went by herself to the interview (Mumbai consulate) but this time I am planning for my dad and mom both. Please suggest me the required documents and expected questions and best possible answers that can be asked to my parents. I desperately need them here as I have a two month old baby. Specifically, I like to know:
    1) What should my parents say in response to "what your daughter is doing right now? should they mention that I am looing for a job or should they say that she is waiting for her husband's study completion and then they will return back.
    2) If they ask whether your daughter has any children, should they admit it (i have a 3 month old baby)?
    3) IF the officers are willing to give a visa to any one of them, what should we say in response to it?
    4) Why are both applying together this time?
    5) What has changed since last time?

    Please help me.

    Thanks

      Hello

Could you please suggest what might be a good answer for Q 3,4,5...please give some idea. Actually, my mom is the one who needs to come here (but I don't know how to justify that other than saying that she would help us with the baby). About Q5, nothing actually changed since last time but the information was not presented properly. Please suggest.

VO's will find out easily so tell your parents not to lie about your OPT status , daughter etc..
Also tell your parents to give short and specific answers at the time of interview,
Your entire case totally depends upon the sponsor.
Can you please let me know who is sponsoring your parents trip (you or themselves or...), so that I can provide you some more inputs,

Thank you very much for replying. I am sponsoring the trip; I am on my OPT right now and do not have a job in hand at this moment. However, I do have savings of around $8,000. Do you think it would be okay if I sponsor? My husband is a F1 student here, so do you think it would be better if he sponsor them instead?

In first interview, following were the questions to my mom:
          1) why do you want to go to the USA; she said to visit my daughter and son-in-law
          2) have you been to USA before: she said NO
          3) what you do: she said I am a housewife
          4) what your husband does; she said he is a businessman
          5) how much does he earns: she said I am not sure but he earns enough that he can take care of part of my expenses. I think this was the last question to her and I am pretty much sure that her answer ruined the outcomes.

Please suggest me what do I need to do this time to make the case strong? What should I explain for the questions on DS-160 "Have you refused a visa before, explain?" My father has some property in India, does he need to have a government person evaluate its cost and give some kind of proof or he can just say that he has proprty worth YYYY ?
Please suggest, I am afraid this time. Please help.
          Thanks
