Hi There,
I have been working abroad for the last year and will be returning to South Africa soon when my contract ends.
I have some friends and family in the USA who I would like to visit before I start working again in South Africa.
I am concerned that I will not be able to get a B2 visa because I will still technically be working at the time of filling in the application form (I wll still be working abroad), but by the time I actually attend the interview my contract will be over and I'll technically be unemployed.
I dont want to get penalised for being dishonest, which Im technically not being.
I previously worked for a large corporate in South Africa before I worked abroad and I intend working for them again when return from the US
I also have my pension and investments tied up in SA. I also have sizeable savings R150k + in SA too.
I also have more than adequate money in my account to cover the trip.
My parents and brother and close friends are all still in SA.
The fact that I have my family and investments/pension and everything in SA, will that be sufficient to prove I have "strong ties"
The fact that I have not started working again and am between contracts - will this make it difficult for me to get a B2 visa?
Thanks,
Bryan
