  • Visa Rejected!! Need Feedback!!

My in-laws visa was rejected yesterday at Mumbai consulate. The CO said he was doubtful that they would return back to India.
    The questions asked were:
    1.Name:
2.Who filled the form for you?: I had filled it on a computer here and sent them the filled form. (which made it look neat and clean) They signed it there. My FIL said that he himself filled the form.
    3.How did you fill it?
FIL said that he filled it on a computer.
    4.Where do you work:
Retired, used to work with ZZZ.
5.How long do you want to stay?
6 months (since we wrote 6 months in the application)

The CO said 6 months is too long and rejected the visa. Didnt give a chance to say anything further.

Where do you people think we went wrong?
Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

We want to reapply soon. Is it adivsable to reapply just after 3 days? Or will they say, why did u reapply this soon?

    Thanks,

I think they should have mentioned a shorter duration of stay.
(3-4 months) . The stay visitors get when they enter US is usually 6 months
    anyway.

In my opinion, reapplying too soon would only invite another refusal if
    there is nothing new explained or presented;
The consular has presumed an immigrant intent which your parents must
    overcome in their next app.

They could wait some months and reapply when they have a situation
in home country (family or work)which would require their return.
and when they can state that they need a shorter duration of stay.

      Thanks,
When you filled the forms for your inlaws, did you put your name on the DS156 as the person who filled the forms? Just curious....if you did put your name on the DS156 applications, the consul officer may have thought that your FIL is not being truthful...
