Need information on US travel with four months visa validity

My mom has booked her ticket from chennai to US for september 11th 2012 and her return ticket is confirmed for Dec 11 2012. Her passport expires in January 2012. The travel agent who booked her ticket said it is fine to travel but now I am not so sure.

Can anyone tell is she is allowed to travel now or will they stop her from entering the US since her passport will expire in four months. She has been to the US four times already.
