Here is my problem:
I am currently studying Equine Science (i.e. horses) at a University in my home country (South Africa). I am finishing my second year and have to work at a horse establishment for my third year to gain practical experience in the industry (it is known as work integrated learning at our University). During this time we have assignments that have to be written and sent back to the University for evaluation. We are not required to be paid at all, because we are still students and studying. I have found a horse establishment in Florida USA that is willing to accommodate me in 2013. The position they advertised is a working student position. We help out with the daily care of the horses and receive free accommodation and training. We may also receive $200 per month. I am hoping to go there for at least 3 months, but would like to stay for longer if I can manage it. Once I have completed my third year I will receive my National Diploma in Equine Science and I will then continue my studies for a fourth year to get my degree.
My question is... can I go in with a tourist visa (visitor's visa)? I've been looking at the different types of visa's available but don't know which better suites my situation.
Can anyone give me some advice????
