  • Visitor Visa Questions

Hi, I have a few questions about the visitors visa.

I am an australian and I have the option of staying in america for less than 90 days on a visa waiver program, I have done this twice before. But I want to spend more time with my girlfriend so I am applying for a Visitors visa so I can stay 6 months.

Is it possible to get married to an american citizen while on a visitors visa? I know this will not let me stay in the USA, but wout at least be an official wedding?

We are planning on me getting a 5-6 month visa and getting married in the USA and applying for a spouse visa so we can both move to australia. Will my application for a visitors visa be rejected if they think we are going to get married? and if my visa gets rejected will it stop me from visiting on the visa waiver program?

Yes, it is possible to get married on a visitor visa and registered properly in US, it will be a legal wedding .

But the problem is getting a visitor visa to meet your gf.
it indicates immigrant intent and is likely to be refused.
After the refusal you may have problems at the port of
    entry travelling on the waiver.

If you have never overstayed your previous two visits to the US
on the waiver, your chances of getting a visitor visa are very good
provided you have a good reason to visit US that does not make you
a possible immigrant. Like an extended tour of the whole of US
    or an internship maybe.
