Dutch Passport , Curacao resident 6 month validity rule?

I was wondering if anyone could help me with some additional information. I visited the website and read the passport validity requirements here:
However it states that the "Countries listed below are exempt of the 6 months validity rule"; the Netherlands are listed as well. I live in Curacao which means that I have a Dutch Passport.
Does "county" also include "residency"?
Meaning if my Dutch passport (exp. date in August) is not valid for 6 month (but does cover the planned trip in April) will I need to renew it before my trip as I am not a resident in the Netherlands (but of Curacao which is still part of the Dutch Kingdom)?
