Dubai transit visa

I am living in US for the past 3 years with H1B visa. Recently my visa got expired and got visa extension. But I dont have the stamped H1B visa in my passport. I am planning to travel to India via Dubai. Also planning for a stop over in Dubai and visit Dubai with a transit visa. What is the country of residence I should show while applying for transit visa? If I need to show US as my country of residence then my concern is about the H1B visa extension not being stamped in my passport. Will my transit visa be rejected due to that?

If that is the case I am planning to go for a different approach. I have a valid US visitor (B1/B2) visa. Can I show that while applying? In this approach which country I need to show as my country of residence? Will this be considered as false information as I am currently staying in US under H1B?
