The Embassy of Japan in India introduced the processing of visa applications through external service provider in North India by formally inaugurating the Japan Visa Application Centre (JVAC), located at International Trade Tower, Nehru Place, New Delhi. Operational since 2 April 2012, this new facility is managed by VFS Global, the global outsourcing and technology services specialist for diplomatic missions and governments worldwide.
Similarly, VFS Global also operates satellite acceptance centres for collection of Japanese visa applications in the northern cities of Chandigarh and Jalandhar, and collection centres in Agra, Amritsar, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur and Ludhiana.
