Extended Visitor visa - interval for reentry

Hi Team,

My Mother in law stayed total of 11 months in Visitor visa including extended for 5 months.She came in Nov 2011 and went back by Sep 2012.Now we are planning to bring her back in Jan 2013.

I would like to know whether any issues will come in port of entry - is there any fixed interval should be there?

There are no official rules around this but one should be careful in not extending ones stay unnecessarily and avoiding multiple trips with short stays outside US while on B1/B2. Frequent visits and long stays can result in cancellation of visa as well as sometimes refused entry at the POE.
