Can visitor visa extended beyond my H1B valid date

Hi,

My parents came to US on 18th Oct 2012 and I94 is valid till 17 APR 2013, I am planning to apply for an extension for another 6 months till 0ctober 2013. But my H1B visa is expiring on 31 Jul 2013 and have applied for extension and i am sure it will get extended.

Is it possible to get visitor visa extended for 6 months? or if apply for extension will it get approved till July 2013? Please guide.

Ask for a 3 month extension. Reasons ;

*your H-1 extension is still under process.
*More likely to be approved than if you ask for a 6 month ext.
*Staying 1 yr on a visitor status is totally not recommended.
They will have problems entering again.

PS . Do it now, in fact you should have done it sooner . Because Extension responses take some time
to come . If it is a denial and you get it after the original I-94 has expired; they go out of status and
must leave asap .
