Mother's stay extension

Hi,
My mother has visited us currently for the first time. She is on Visitor visa valid until Feb'2014. I am looking at extending her stay by another 6months.
I have future plans of getting her back to US after 6months cooling period in India (after completion of additional 6months stay).
I have all the documents needed to prove her intention togo back to india.

Please advise if this is a feasible plan and points that I need to take care of.

You mean her stay is till Feb'14. An extension once in a while is ok but do not get into the habit of getting it everytime she comes, as
this can mean spending 12 months on every visit . That can have consequences on future visits.

And apply early as they take 2-3 m o nths to process. You want the response to come before her stay expires.
