B-2 Visa extension question

Hello,

I am applying for B2 Extension of Visa to my parents whose return ticket to India is currently December 10, 2013 (this year) but their Visa expiry date is actually stamped as January 3, 2014 on their passport.

Question:

- USCIS asks for a copy of return plane ticket. Should I change the date of their plane ticket to a future date (example: April 30, 2014) until which I want their Visa to be extended ?
