  • Visa extension and return date on ticket

Hi, I am applying for an extension of stay on my B2 Visa. Currently I am required to leave in January 2014 and I wish to extend another 6 months til July 2014. When I originally purchased the flight tickets I wasn't sure how long the Customs and Border Patrol Official was going to grant me to stay in the country so the travel agent booked the latest possible future date that their computer system would allow, which at the time was April 2014. This allowed me one free change of the flights date without any penalty. If I want to stay til July 2014 should I change the flights before I apply so my return ticket show July instead of April? I am a little reluctant to do so in case my request is denied and then I will incur an additional $1,200 to change them back again to another date. Thanks for any input.

For B1/B2 "visa extention" I should change the flights dates before I apply or after extention approved ?

    Please let me know

Did you get your approval yet or was it rejected? In the past I did not have to change my parents return ticket before getting approval. I did apply previously and got approved just in time and then changed their return flight ticket. I have applied for another extension and waiting for decision from USCIS. So was curious the average processing time for your case. Mine is at vermont service center. Thanks,

I am curious how you can apply for another extension.
Do you mean the second extension after the first one before you leave US?
Because my mother's visa has been extended once, and I am wondering whether we can do the second time.
