Visitor Visa Extension for Second Time.

Hi,

My parents came to USA this month(Feb 2014) on Visitor Visa(B2-Second Visit) and they are granted only 3months stay this time.

Their Last visit (2011) they were granted for 6months. We applied for their extension for another 4months and it was approved and they went back to India within the extended date.

1)Is this the reason they are granted only for 3months?(Even though the officer asked my parents how long you want to stay and my parents replied 6months).

2)I plan to apply for their extension for another 3months(Have booked their return ticket for 6months assuming they will be granted for 6months).
-Has anyone applied for extension for second time and been granted their extension?.
-When can I apply for extension, can I do it right away?.

2. Quite likely that the extension will be denied. Sooner they apply, bigger chances of rejection.
