b1/b2 visa ext help plz

Hi all

I've applied for my extension about a mnth ago and aware it takes some time to get an answer

My visa exp on the 20 august 2014 and I want to go back to SA soon for a month. Is this possible with my application still pending or do I have to wait to get a response .

it takes about 3 months or even more. If the reason for extension is not so important, I suggest you leave before aug.20.
also remember once you leave US , extension application will have not have any meaning. And returning after one month they can deny you admission for returning
so quickly.

So you suggest I leave and I will have a chance to re enter. I have a 10year multiple entry visa?

it depends on the reason for your extension. If it is very important , you can wait 2-3 months for the response.
But if it is not important,just casual, I suggest you leave before aug 20.
About re-entering you will have to spend a few months( 4-5 months) in SA before coming to US again.

In future if you wish to apply for an extension; do it early , not towards the end of your stay.
