Gap period - B2 expired, F1 approved

I have filed change of status from B2 to F1 which got approved but my B2 with 6 months validity is already expired and semester will start in Jan. What should I do?

Gap

You should leave the country and return on your approved F1 when it's time. Otherwise, you will be taking a risk since you will be out of status for months.
