Extending visitor visa

My parents came to visit me in may 2006 and unfortunately my 60 yr old father died of a Heart attack,i extended the stay for my mother by six months and i would like to know if i can extend one more time for 6 more months.She has 10 yrs multiple entry visa.What are the pros and cons of extending the visa for the second time.In case if i dont get extension and she goes back,what is the time that we need to wait to get her back here and how long do they usually give the visa the next time she enters USA.

Its been very difficult to send her back after i lost my dad,any info on this is greatly appreciated.

I am assuming they came in May 2005 (not 2006 as you wrote).

The purpose of a visitor visa is to visit US and not for long continuous stays . She was lucky to get a first extension for 6 months
but not again. I'd advise you against it. I'd suggest she go back to India
and return in another 6-7 months. By law, there is no stipulated period
between two visits but it is entirely at the discretion of the admitting
officer at entry to raise questions and deny entry if he suspects the visa is
being abused. Also ,there have been instances of parents who make very quick visits being stopped and sent back.

Another thing;she should keep all copies of extension approvals in case there are questions when she enters the next time.
