B2 VISA Expiring on May 7,2017, till when can I enter USA&duration of stay afterwards

Hello,

I need help in understanding about duration of time that can be granted to me if my B2 VISA is expiring in May 7 2017. I have read that one can enter till the last day of VISA validity, but is it really practically true ? How much duration is allowed for stay in such a case,
considering that I enter USA from India on B2 in May first week, 2017. This will be my second visit and I had returned in 3 months on my first visit.

You can enter on May 7, 2017 (the day the visa expires). The period of admission for B2 is normally 6 months, but the officer has discretion to give you a shorter time.
