  • Requesting Extension for Visitors (parents) I-94

I am in US on L1 visa. My parents were issued a one year multiple entry visa (Oct 05 to Sep06). They will be travelling to US only in Jul06 which leaves only 3 months.
    My questions:
    1) Can my parents request for later dated I-94 at Port of entry? Maybe Nov06.
    2) Please let me know the link which details the process to apply for extension of I-94 after arrival.
    3) Will any of the above be recorded negatively?

    Thanks
    Nagananda.

Of course it will be recorded negatively !!!

Nagananda, you should've read the forums before posting cause most of the information that you are asking has already been asked and answered before. It does pay to do some research you know ...

Well better late than never ... first of all NEVER, I repeat NEVER ever ask about I-94 extension at the POE unless you want immigration to put you on the first return flight back.

Ok, so their visa expires in Sept '06 and they are entering the US in July '06 so what seems to be the problem ? They will most probably get a 6-month stamp at the POE which means that they can stay LEGALLY in the US till December '06. So what is your confusion about 3 months ?!?!?!!?

Also once they get here then after 3-4 months you can start the process of getting an extension for their I-94. And if that gets granted they can stay till June '07.

Oh and you were asking about a link for extending I-94 well here it is ...

These tips can help you find what you are looking for: Check the URL (web address) for proper spelling and completeness; Use our

... of course you could've gotten this link if you would have just googled "I-94 extension" which is what I did.
