B.2 visa extension rejected.

In 10/2006 my request for extension of b2 stay was rejected.I.94 expired on 31.8.2006.Left USA on 14.10.2006 on receipt of rejection(10 days gap) Is my 10 yr.M visa void.How toknow in advance before reaching POE again.Pl.quote authority if known. Thanks

Original visa valid

Your original visa is still valid. Make sure you have all the documents with you when you enter the United States next time. These documents include your copies for request of extension, the receipt with date stamp of when it was sent, the date stamp on when you received the denial, the copy of denial etc.

In short have the entire paper trail with you. Truthfully inform the immigration officer at the port of entry that you had over stayed but had immediately returned back when you were informed the extension was denied.

By law, if your extension information hasn't arrived by the time your I-94 expires, you're not eligible to stay in the country.

For additional safety, call up your local consulate.
