  • Extension applied - travel within USA

    Hi
I have applied for extension of visitor visa for my parents, awaiting new I94, original I94 submitted with the application. Can they fly within the USA? they have their passports, the receipt from USCIS for the I539, and copies of the I94.
    Thanks in advance

I don't see any problem with this. It is better to carry relevant documents (like the receipt from USCIS etc) while traveling.

      Copies / Scanned Images

As cool_r2i correctly mentioned, do take these documents with you.

However, the only document required to fly within the U.S. is a photo ID that is sufficed by their passport.

In the past we've used photo credit card (add-on/authorized user) issued by Citi Bank as a photo ID for local flying.

Do make sure that you have copies &/or scanned images of all the documents that you're caryring including their passports. Keep these copies / scanned images at a safe place that you can access easily in case the originals are lost or damaged.

Good luck and enjoy the country.
