Leaving before extension decision?

I would highly appreciate if you can answer this question since this is not clear to me. I want to extend my mother's stay who is on a 5 yrs multiple entry B2 visa. If in advance and the extension is denied, and she leaves before her I-94 expires i.e does not overstay, will still the multiple entry visa would be void under 222 (g).
