B2 Visa extn - VSC - receipt received within a week!

We Fedexed my parents' extension request and all supporting docs last Monday. I was surprised and thrilled to receive the receipt today in the mail. (I had heard that even the receipt can take a long time.)

Is there any chance that the actual decision will be made faster? Current processing time on the USCIS website as of Jan 15, 08 was July 23, 07.

they are working on processing receipts faster, but that does not mean that the application will be processed faster.

We sent our aunts extension application in on August 10, they got it August 16 and send the receipt the 20th. We are still waiting for the decision. The Vermont center is processing applications from July 23, 2007 so it will be at least a month before we hear anything. Sorry...

013008 Update: Just got an email (I signed up for email update online) and it said the approval letter was sent. Keep up the hope. The whole process took about 5 and a half months... Sent in application the 10th of August, they got it the 16th got approval on the 30th of January.
