Visitor visa extension and its implication on new visa

My mother is visiting US, she has a 10 year multiple entry visa, which is expiring soon. and we want to re apply for another 10 year visa.

So, I want to find out, if we file for extension of her stay right now will it affect her chance of getting 10 year visa later ?

Please advice.

Better not try to extend her stay as if it gets denied, it will work against her getting another term of 10 year visa or a visa.

... a good idea not to file for extension at this time.

Get the new visa first and then think about it.

These days it's not getting any better, you may not want to take risks.
