my I-94 will expire on january 19,2008. My expected delivery date would be january 16,2008. i would like to apply for a visa extension at most two months. would i receive a response immediately before my 1-94 expire, if i apply 6 weeks before the expiration. i'm afraid it would be diificult to travel for me then if i'm on my 36th to 40th week. will they approve my request for extension?

There is no need for you to stay the entire 6 months you were given. Return home no later than your 30-32nd week.
How do you plan to pay for your delivery? You aren't planning on the US taxpayers funding you. A B2 visa does not give you the right to take advantage of the hospitality of US citizens. You realize an uncomplicated delivery costs between $10,000-$20,000. A complex one with birth injuries (quite likely would be due to your travel during pregnancy) could run into the millions.
A US citizen child confers no benefit until he becomes 21.
You were ill advised to undertake non-essential travel while you are pregnant. You have needlessly risked the lives of both you and your child. It was just pain stupid and irresponsible of you. (I am the mother of 4 and cannot believe any responsible MOTHER would do such a thing!)
You need to GO HOME ASAP.

Orion,
That is only a small part - wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grandmother, retired techie, woman of mystery with many interests and talents, and a fountain of mostly useless information (that occasionally becomes very useful), and old enough to say what I think - especially when children are concerned.
Anyone who plans to do what this young woman has done needs to go look at some of the micro-premie blogs and the life long effects of children born too soon.

Aah! Ouch!
Every day hundreds or thousands of women from some specific countries cross the United States border illegally just to enter the country and give birth.
Once their kid is born on the US soil, the kid automatically becomes an United States citizen and then its difficult if not impossible to send the mother back to her home country.
Once the kid is of age, first the mother, father and then all the other siblings get to come here legally.
This way, one pregant woman illegally entering United States is able to get more than 35 people legally in the country.
Imaging that!
No wonder English will not remain the first language very soon.

I think getting to accept the terms and learning other languages if needed is the only way to go putting legal/illegal immigration aside.
Nevermind, I see myself as a liberal.
I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Legally yes, illegally DEFINITELY NOT!
Yes, this is the counrty of immigrants but legal immigration is one thing, illegal entry into the country is another.
Being far too liberal to condone illegal activities which eat up the country from inside is no doing good to anybody, including you too!
If you're a tax paying legal resident of this country, you're paying through your nose for the expenses of your illegal immigrants including, medical, taxes, schools etc.
Sure, learning other languages is a great thing, I personally know more than eight, but all for a good legal cause.
Hope you get it. Many people have legally come into the country spending thousands of dollars and years and years of wait to get legal US Citizenship or in most cases, just a GC with lots of strings attached.
If you're open to these illegal activities just because the country is based on immigrants, then I'm sorry, but will have to very humbly look at the situation carefully and see what damage is being done daily.
Thank you.
