Extend Visitor visa on Health Ground

Hi,

My parents came to US four months back. After coming here suddenly my mother became ill and she was admitted into hospital. Doctors diagnosed infection in her left leg and her left leg was amputated. She is in nursing home right now. Doctors asked me to extend her stay. I would like to extend my parents stay so that my mother will get treatment and my father will look after her in the nursing home. I invite suggestions from you informing the best reason I can give to INS inorder to extend my parents' stay.

Yes, you can give that reason. Make sure to attach any documentation from the doctor/nursing home for the same.

Did you purchase insurance with Medevac coverage? That should fly her and your father home in a medically appropriate manner rather on just a regular airline flight. If necessary, it could include a nurse accompanying them on the trip.

I hope her health improves very soon! What a dreadful event to happen on what should be a happy trip.
