Hi
I came here on B1/B2 2-year multi-entry visa and I was given I-94 valid for 6 months(I-94 expires during the first few days of january 09). I applied for extension of my stay for another 6 months and I got a receipt from USCIA that the case is pending. I have about a month to go before my I-94 expires and now my church is hiring me to become the scout's leader. The church is applying I-129 to change my status to R-status(religious worker status). my question is can the church still apply for me the I-129 knowing that I applied for stay extension or will there be a problem? and what happens if the I-129 doesnt get approved until my I-94 has expired, am I still eligible for the R status knowing that I can stay legally in the US until a decision has reached for my stay extension application?
Thank you very much
