Extension of I-94

Hello,

My mothers I-94 is expiring on 3rd Feb’09. I applied for her visa extension in 2nd week of December’08. My question is –

• What if we don’t receive any letter from USCIS before 3rd Feb’09 ? Can my mother stay in US until she receives a letter from USCIS or will she have to leave the country before 3rd Feb’09 ?

She can stay up to 240 days from the application, or until the decision is made, whichever one comes first.

If it gets denied, it will void the visa though.
