  • New I94 issued (for extension of stay)-Which one to turn in at the time of departure?

My parents applied for a six month extension of stay and received the new I-94 card. Could some one clarify if they have to turn in both the old and the new I-94 cards at the time of departure.

Also, could some one please clarify if they need to retain a photocopy of the new and the old I-94s? I have some times read that it may be needed the next time they visit the US. Thanks

    Time applied

I too read that its better you keep copies of both sets. Some where it was suggested to keep copies of boarding passes too but may not be for visitors visa tho. Also can you pl tell me how long it took for the extension to come thru. when did you apply- I mean how early before the i 94 time exp. If possible the reason mentioned. Thanks in advance

Applied about 40 days before I94 expiry.. Got the approval for extension in about 3 months.

You should return ALL I-94s while exiting. The fact that it is a I797A means that the extension was approved. Any VO knows this. You can keep the portion of I-94 piece to the left of I797A which is your copy.

Retain copies of the I-94s just for your own records and for future entry.

I am building a crystal ball that will answer immigration related timeline questions and am open for weathy investors. I can tell now that the rate of return on this will be *****nomical.

              It can answer questions like:

              1. As soon as the case status changes to RFE, what the RFE is about? - $50 fee.
              2. When will my GC be approved? - $ 250 fee for people with PDs greater than 2007, $500 for PDs less than 2007.
              3. Reasons for delays in processing. - Pricing yet TBD.

My prototype is already ready. Any takers? It is a get rich quick idea.
