Visitor Visa Extension after 6 months

Has anyone heard that visitor visas will not be extended within US after the first 6 months? I believe that came up in the media in India.

There is no such rule.

Often media in India report inaccurate news without bothering to know the exact immigration laws of USA.

I have seen many inaccurate news in Indian media, particularly in regional newspapers.

Got this clarified - the new rule applies to visa revalidation service and NOT to visa extension service.

Visa revalidation for H1, L1 etc. will not be done anymore in US. That is correct news.
