  • Visitor Visa Extension- What if denied

    Hello--

My parents came here on a one year visitor visa. Their I94 expired on March 1st 2004. We applied for an extension until August 31, 2004 (another 6 months) on Jan 29th. We have not yet heard back from the USCIS. The case status is still showing as pending.

We have not yet made any plans for my parents to return.

    My question is:
What happens if the extension is denied? Can we take a week or so to procure the tickets and leave? Will they be considered as having overstayed or out of status?

    Thanks in advance
