  • visitor visa extension is getting fwd to TX

    Hi,
On July 21st 2010 I mailed visitor visa extension application (I539) to CA Service Center in Laguna Niguel, CA.
But it got forwarded to LEWISVILLE, TX.
    Is this OK?
Does anyone else has this experience?
Does anyone know why it got forwarded to LEWISVILLE, TX office?

When can I expect the receipt for my application?
How long does it usually take for USCIS to deposit the cheque?

    Any information is appreciated,
    thanks,
    Kumar

As long as you filed it to the correct location initially, don't worry about they forwarding it to a different location. It is their internal matter. They do that some times to due work load or due to other reasons like policy change.

I mailed my mother's application on July21st to CA Service Center, it got forwarded to LewisVille, TX on July 23rd.
You mentioned that yours is not received by USCIS, How do you know if it is received by USCIS?
Do we get an email saying that the application was received by USCIS?
Or do we get a receipt number?

I mailed mine using USPS Express mail, the tracking information shows that it is forwarded to LewisVille, TX. Thats all I have for now.

I attached a Return Receipt, and I am waiting for it to come back.

Keep updating when you have any new status.
          Lets keep in sync,
          thanks,
          Kumar

I got the USPS Return Receipt from USCIS on saturday (July 31st).
Actually the I539 application was forwarded from Laguna Niguel, CA to Lewis Ville, TX and to Dallas, TX.
But the express mail tracking info did not get updated with the 'delivered ' state.

Looking forward to get a receipt number from USCIS, I guess for CA Service Center cases it will be WAC number.

My mother's I94 is expiring on Aug 5th.

I still didnt get the reciept, but USCIS cashed in my cheque..
Any idea how long this would take.
Can your mom stay in the U.S. even after the I-94 expires, or does she need to leave

I got my receipt yesterday (08/02) and the check is encashed today (08/03).
You will be getting your's soon.
My mom is going to stay after I-94 expiration date, I have heard about couple of similar cases and their visa was fine and didnt need to get the new visa again.
