B2 extension help....URGENT

I am planning to extend my mom's stay for 2 more months. Her I-94 is going to end on Oct-18.
1)Can i submit for extension now.
2)Can i submit open ticket to USCIS , as i did not confirm the return date when i why buying the ticket.

Please let me know . Your advise is higly appreciated.

Confirmed ticket for the date till which you are seeking an extension.

That would help show that you are planning to go back on or before the last day of legal stay.
