Visitor visa extension...

Hi,
My mother just came to USA a couple of weeks ago. Her initial plan was to stay for a month, but now it looks like she will stay longer. her visa is multiple-entry for 10 yrs
In her i-94, the "valid till" field shows "B1/B2" instead of a date. What does this mean ? Can i just extend her return ticket date and is the i-94 valid till then? if not, how long does the process of i-94 extension take?

I-94 extension can take anywhere from few weeks to 4 months.

There will be a date stamped either on I-94 or very near to that in passport. She can only stay till that date. You can't just extend the ticket and stay more.
