Query - Visitor Visa Extension

My parents have been here for last eight months, before there I-94 expired I have applied for an extension and only my Mom got an approval. For my dad they are asking for the proof that he will go back and reasons for staying. Has any one encountered this problem...? Please Help !!!

Show them the ticket that he is going to go back.
