Atlas + MRMIP for California

Hi,

My father has a pre existing condition that may require medical help after few months.

Is it ok to get him enrolled in 2 Insurance plans at same time.

Atlas America for any new conditions with 100K plan limit.

MRMIP in California for $75K limit for preexisting conditions. (Pre existing coverge starts after 3 months)


So after 3 months if he has any issues either with new or pre existing, both are covered.

The premiums would be expensive, but at least there will be security...

I am not able to understand what exactly your question is.

Is your father visiting the US? How long is he planning to stay here? When is he arriving here? How old is he?

You have earlier posted multiple questions in 'New Immigrants to USA' but now you have posted in 'Visitors Medical Insurance for USA' section. Therefore, we are not clear whether you are looking for insurance for the same person or a separat person.

Please clarify so that we can answer it.

Initial plan to stay 6 months, may extend to 1 year and apply for greencard.

Your father is not resident of California but tourist to USA. Therefore, he is not eligible to enroll into MRMIP.

By any chance, whenever he is eligible to enroll into MRMIP because he is residence of CA and satisfies all other conditions, at that time he will not be eligible for Atlas America.
