Need to get Medical Insurance for my mom. She is 64.

Hello. I'm looking for some help here and advice.

My mom came from Ukraine and she is gonna stay for a 6+ months. She is 64 years old.

She has melanoma. Late stage. I want to take her to a doctor and I need to get her an insurance.

What coverage and what company would be able to provide insurance for my mom... so we can go see a doctor and don't have to pay arm and leg for a visit.

Also there is a huge possibility that she might need a surgery. So we need some plan that will cover that (the more the better).

I don't know where to start.
Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, there is no insurance plan that would cover her. It is a pure loss for any insurance company to cover that.

You would have to pay out of your pocket for the same.

Only visiting the doctor will not cost an arm and a leg. But treatment/surgery will be very costly. Also, many doctors will not even see her without insurance and no visitor policy will cover her per-existing condition.

Best thing to do would be to send her home and she get treated there.

If good treatment is not available in her home country, next best thing would be to send her to the place where you can afford to pay for the treatment yourself and good treatment is available. e.g., Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India.

If you don't want to do that either, you will have to pay for all that yourself for treatment in the US.

If you can't afford that, I don't see any other choice.

Someone else (insurance company) is not just going to pay for it when it is already a known loss.

What about just regular coverage?

In case if I need to take her to ER, what coverage she needs for that?

What I'm trying to say is for example when I go to ER I just pay 100$ co-pay and prescriptions are covered. Can I get her something like that?
