My dad(64) is planning to visit US in May and I would like to purchase good insurance for him. He is diabetic, takes insulin and suffered a heart attack 10 years back. He also takes blood thinning medication. He monitors his blood glucose levels, follows-up with his doctor regularly and his condition has been stable ever since.
If I have to deal with a heart-related emergency, will this be considered as an acute onset of a pre-existing condition or a pre-existing condition? I realize that most of these questions on the forum have been answered with a vague "situation-based" claim, but all I want to know is if there is an emergency that is diabetic/heart-related, what is this emergency called? It would also be helpful if you give me an example of a situation that is covered and one that is not.
