Has anyone had experience with figuring out visitors' insurance options for the time period when a visitor is already in the U.S. (having arrived as a visitor) and is now awaiting their green card? Different insurance sites seem to provide conflicting advice, with some saying that the visitors insurance would no longer be valid and that the person would need to immediately switch to a new immigrant or bridge plan, while others seem to suggest that the person would continue to be covered by the visitor's insurance policy until such time that the green card is approved. Would love to hear from others' experience with such a situation. Also, if your parent was in that grey area of having arrived as a visitor but is awaiting their green card and you had to make an insurance claim, what documents were required to demonstrate evidence of being a visitor vs. an immigrant with a green card?
thanks.
thanks.
