are all the gic and private insurance comoanies bad?

i and my wife are travelling to usa in the first week of march 06.we want to take medical insurance.we are past 55.our plan is to stay for 6months.
from the various experiences indicated in your web page,it looks as if there is not even a single insurance agency from india who are reliable and will help in a tigtsituation.is this correct?
do we have only ammerican insurance companies which are reliable?what about other international companies?can i get information on these companies?will they be competetive?

And for your information, for age over 55 years, most private companies in India are ONLY fixed coverage, such as Tata AIG, ICICI Lombard, Bajaj Allianz. They simply don't have comprehensive coverage.
