My mother plans to visit USA from India for 3 months. We are suspecting that she has symptoms of Parkinsons but this has not been diagnosed/confirmed by a doctor in India. I am wondering if I can take her to a doctor in the US and get her treated here. From what I hear, health insurance providers dont cover this type of treatment on a short term visit for a pre-existing condition. Is there a way to have this covered and how much would such cover cost? If a person wants to travel to the US for medical treatment what are his/her health insurance options?

Pre-existing conditions
You have heard correct. There is no medical plans that will cover treatment for the pre-existing conditions for visitors to the US. You would have to pay for her treatment out of pocket if you choose to have it here.Last edited by samlynn; 07-15-2016, 01:08 PM.This is my opinion not legal advice.
