Visitor medical insurance - Leg pains

My mom has these leg and joint pains that comes on and off. I am not sure if that is considered a preexisting condition. If I want to take a insurance now, which would be better in case if I want to show her to the dr. here? This is not a pain happening always , it comes sometimes. Rather than applying any creams, I would rather let her take some medicine. Thanks.
