Renewing comprehensive coverage plan

I have a question regarding coverage renewal. My parents will be visiting me soon and I am planning to buy comprehensive coverage.

I am planning to buy this coverage as my father as the main applicant,
and my mother as spouse for 3 months. But later, Is it possible to
renew this coverage for another 3 months only for my mother(though she
is not the main applicant and only declared in the policy as spouse)?

If you would like to renew only for 1 person later, you need to do 2
separate applications now, one per each person.

Premium rates will be same for each person, whether you apply for both of
them in one application, or one person per application. Most companies charge $5
every time you renew it. If you renew it, you will have to pay
$5/application. And if you renew for both, you will pay $5/person instead of
$5/application. That is the only difference.

Therefore, go ahead and apply separately for each person.
