I am planning to buy protection america and had a question. Does the deductible apply from the beginning? So, if the patient visits the doctor and doctor charges 100 bucks, then it will come out of our pocket, until the deductible max is met? After that 80% uptil 5000. Am I correct? I would really appreciate if you could answer the question.

Thank you for your interest in purchasing Protection America. You have to first pay the deductible before insurance company starts paying anything. In other words, you have to first pay the deductible even for the doctor visit. Deductible is maximum once a year. After the deductible, insurance company pays 80% for first $5,000 in eligible medical expenses, you pay 20%. After $5,000, it will pay 100% up to policy maximum. I hope that answers your question.
