Cancellation rules ?

I am planning to take insurance from this site for my father who is scheduled to come next month. In case he does not get VISA for some reason, what is the procedure and details for cancellation of the policy?

I guess cancellation will be before commencement of the policy in my case.

You can cancel the insurance before the effective date. Most companies that we work with do not charge any cancellation fee if cancelled before the effective date. (Couple of them charge either $20 or $25 cancellation fee even before the effective date.)
