I got your contact from your site. Not sure whether you entertain direct emails or not. Anyway wanted to contact you directly with couple of queries:

I have almost made my mind to buy Patriot America for my mother who is going to visit me for 2 months starting from August 8th. I need the following clarifications:

1. In the brochure, under claim processing, it appears as if for every claim, the insured will have to pay the full amount and then file the claim with the insurance company for settlement. If we are obtaining the services from PPO, will the provider not directly bill the insurance company and then bill the insured if there is anything extra which is not covered. May be I am reading it wrong, but I need a confirmation before I buy.

2. In the brochure, it does not mention specifically how prescriptions are covered. Can you please clarify?

3. For ER visit, which does not end up with hospitalization, there is an additional deductible of $250. Does this mean if my policy deductible is $250, I will have to pay first $500, before insurance start paying? Is this correct?

I would really appreciate your feedback on the queries and on the this policy (Patriot America) in general.

What is written in the brochure is a general statement as Patriot America is valid all over the world except home country. And outside US, there is no concept of PPO.

2. Prescription drugs are covered just like any other medical expenses.

3. That rule does not apply for injuries or accidents.
That is only for the sicknesses that don't result in hospitalizaton. And your understanding is correct.

Thank you very much for the prompt response. Couple more things:

1. On the online application, there is filed 'Area of Coverage' - the options are '---Quote All Coverage Areas---', 'Area 2 - excluding US/Canada', 'Area 3 - Worldwide'. What should I be selecting here. My mother is traveling from India to US and then will go back from US to India. She does not intend to travel to any other country.

2. She will start on 8th August from India and will leave US on 11th October and will be reaching India on 12th October. What should be my start date and end date on the policy? As per me, it should be 8th August and 12th October. Please advise.

3. I assume that travel is covered in Patriot America. Please confirm.

1. That question is a programming mistake. Coverage is valid anywhere outside home country, including US/Canada, no matter what you put. Anyway, put Area 3.
