My folks are visiting for ~2 months. It is unlikely that they will stay longer. Patriot seems to be the better choice due to 90/10 at a cheaper premium than 80/20 with Protection America. The caveat is the renewability - cannot renew with Patriot with initial <3 months. I would only need to renew if one of them falls sick and is unable to travel back. In that case, when I attempt to extend their stay, would the hospitalization count as pre-existing condition and the coverage stop the day the original contract expires? Even though the only reason is due to health and inability to travel as a result of that?

Patriot vs Protection America - renewability question

Yes, that is exactly why you should purchase Protection America.
We have had customers who ran into that kind of situation and badly wanted to renew the policy.
Visit https://www.insubuy.com/patriot-amer...cal-insurance/ and read the message you see in the dialog box.
If renewal were not of any importance, the same company would not charge more money for the same kind of product. There would be no reason for such products to even exist. Thanks & Regards

Hi Narendra,
I have a couple of questions along the same lines. My parents(74 & 63 yrs) are visiting us next week for about 2.5 months. I'm also contemplating between Patriot and Protection America.
1. Are there any differences between them other than the renewability?
2. Say If buy the insurance from Patriot for 2.5 months and if for some reasons they have to extend their stay, can I then buy from Protection? I see from their brochure you could do it if you show the proof of prior insurance. I just wanted to confirm my understanding with you.
3. Do do you recommend any other insurance considering their age?
Thanks.

1.
Only other difference is that in Patriot America, you get 90/10 coinsurance by default, whlie in Protection America, you can choose 80/20 or 90/201
2.
You could buy a new policy. But if get into any problem during previous 2.5 months, it would be considered as pre-existing condition when you buy new policy. And your deductible and coinsurance would be start all over again.
3.
If you want to buy $50,000, these plans are the best.
If you want to buy $100,000 comprehensive for your father, I would recommend, WorldMed, available at https://www.insubuy.com/worldmed-insurance/Thanks & Regards

One more question.
Since my father is over 70 and when I include both my father and mother in one application, the maximum coverage is limited to $50,000. I would like to get $100,000 for my mother and $50,000 for my father. Can I apply seperately(I think I can)? Is there any difference between applying together as opposed to applying seperately.
Thanks.

You make separate application for each person.
Anyway, there is no difference in price. Thanks & Regards
