  • Health Insurance for my parents visiting from India in October 2008

    Hello Mr. Khatri,
My parents, ages 61 and 69 will be visiting me here in California for a month, in October this year.
I've looked at some of the plans on insubuy.com and would like some advice on which one to choose.
They both are in overall good health. What I want to make sure is that they are more than resonably covered for any accidental injuries, food poisoning, allegies, rashes, appendicitis etc.
So far, the Patriotic America plan is the one I think is most feasible, but I'd like to talk to someone first
When would be a good time to call you ?

Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors health insurance for your parents.

If they are coming here for 1 month, you should buy Protection America instead, available at https://www.insubuy.com/patriot-america-insurance/

Reason: Read the notice that shows up when you visit https://www.insubuy.com/patriot-amer...cal-insurance/

You can call me at any time up to 9 PM Central Time.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
    Thanks & Regards

      Thanks for the tip.

The one part that worries me is the pre-existing condition clause.
Almost any medical ailment thats not accident related, like allergic reactions, appendicitis or a heart attack could be classified as a pre-existing condition ?
Also, given that this is comprehensive coverage, the coverage amount is the limit right ? I read on the website about someone who bought the fixed coverage having issues with the fact that it didnt cover the entire cost of a hospital stay for an appendicitis operation. I want to make sure that buying the comprehensive package mitigates this kind of an issue.

Sorry for asking so many questions. I'm willing to pay a high premium, but just want to make sure it does provide adequate coverage

It is not like that. Based on the Dr opinion, attending physician statement and medical/treatment records, insurance company's claims department will determine whether something is a pre-existing conditions or not. Please look at http://www.immihelp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20623 to see some examples where even heart related conditions were covered.
        Read https://www.insubuy.com/visitor-medi...ng-conditions/ for more details.

In comprehensive coverage plans, you can choose the policy maximum such as $50,000, $100,000, $500,000 or $1,000,000.

Fixed coverage are inadequate and therefore we don't reccommend.

Protection America is an excellent plan and you are making a right choice by purchasing it.

Pelase let me know if you have any other questions.
        Thanks & Regards
